Modified Saiga-12 vs. 8 Cans of Grape Soda

December 6, 2013 By Kirsten Joy Weiss Leave a Comment

First time with a SAIGA-12
First time with a SAIGA-12

My very first time shooting a SAIGA-12 (this version modified beautifully by Mike Rogers of Lone Star Arms) and I decided to take my frustrations out on artificial flavors. Grape Soda specifically (because we all know Grape Soda = Sugar, water, purple). With five other people watching, full of high expectations, the pressure was on to shoot an unfamiliar gun (and shotgun none-the-less). Questions abounded, but once the gun mounted in my shoulder my mind cleared and focused. No other thoughts but the task at hand. On the 7th can I slightly hesitstated as the breif flash of, “Am I doing this?” but then I trashed that thought and continued with a clear mind.

That’s the beauty of shooting. It calms the mind and focuses the senses.
