Double Barrel Vision: The New Double Barrel AR15 is Trippy

August 24, 2018 By Kirsten Joy Weiss 8 Comments

Are two really better than one?

The new Gilboa Snake, a double barrel AR-15 from Silver Shadow – doesn’t just answer this, it yells it in full megaphone while demanding you be brave enough to handle it.

This double shot rifle’s fit for video games like PUBG (Player Unknown BattleGrounds), Battlefield, Fortnite – you name it!  Heck, John Wick might take a chew at this in his next flick.

But this gun doesn’t just live in amped up imagination – it’s very much an existing, shooting, recoiling, reality.

Made in the USA and designed by Israeli company SilverShadow, the Gilboa Snake rifle is the chimera of guns. Nothing else operates quite like it.

I take it out for an initial spin in part 1 here (a quick look)

And in part 2 (the complete review) we not only find some practical uses for this impractical *looking* monster, I answer all your burning questions, deal with a soda thief, and reach shooting bliss while doing a 60 round, brutally beautiful double mag dump.

Yes. You want to add this to your bucket list…

So what’s your verdict? I want to hear from you in the comments. Be honest.

Would you rock this in real life, or would you rather have  it as your primary in your next favorite video game?

– Stay Sharp, Kirsten

More importantly, it would be a definite plus if Double Mint zombie twins attack together during the zombie appocolypse!

Well, you asked for an honest reply. So, initially the idea of a double barrel AR-15 seemed gimmicky. However, after further consideration, just as with any other ‘double barrel anything’, the double barrel AR-15 does seem to have some practical uses too. It has the potential to be more than just a novelty if all of the kinks can be ironed out. I don’t really play video games, so any use of the double barrel AR-15 would have to be real-world. Thanks for sharing these unique platforms with your subscribers. Best wishes.

The dual rifle appears cumbersome and weight alone would negate any practicality.

Great concept with a little tweaking and weight lost from shaving redundant/mirrored parts. That could be a keeper.

Other than being able to have 2 different types of ammo that can be shot just by pulling a different trigger instead of changing magazines or alternating types in the magazine I really don’t see a practical purpose except increased rounds down range. If the intention is to cause more damage to the target with the increased recoil it would seem a better solution would be to use a lager caliber rifle. I does look like a lot of fun. Trying to adjust the barrels so the bullets hit the target at the same spot at a certain distance would be interesting. Better yet adjusting them so the bullets would bounce off of one another at a certain distance and see if 2 separate targets farther down range could be hit.
